Effective 9/1/2024, short-term insurance plans are limited to just 4 months and offer no renewal option with the current insurance provider. Should you experience a major medical health issue, you will NOT be able to enroll in another Short-Term Medical Plan. In addition, unless you have a Special Enrollment Period (SEP), you will not be able to enroll in a Healthcare.gov plan until the following January. PLEASE DO NOT ENROLL IN A SHORT-TERM MEDICAL PLAN UNLESS YOU KNOW YOU ONLY NEED COVERAGE FOR NO MORE THAN 4 MONTHS.

Important information regarding Short Term Medical Plan coverage:
- Illness is NOT covered for the first five days of the enrollment period
- Pre-existing conditions are not covered
- There are 6 health questions you must answer including height and weight guidelines

- Mental Health and Substance Abuse are NOT covered
- Maternity is NOT covered
- Chiropractic care is NOT covered
- Wellness benefits are NOT covered
- Coverage is available for no more than 4 months. These plans offer health insurance protection for a limited term of no more than four months (maximum length of term of your application). Once your Short-Term Medical plan expires you will no longer have health insurance protection with UnitedHealthOne.
